Excellent, 2008-06-28 I'm presently conducting interviews as part of post graduate research and needed a dictaphone, so I got this. I must say that I'm very impressed. Unlike the previous reviewer, I can rewind. The track must be playing though - eg you can't stop playback, then rewind.
The sound quality is excellent through headphones, pretty good through the internal speaker. Batteries (which ARE included, unlike the Amazon description) last for ages, and the unit can record 30 hours of high quality audio. Recordings are also time stamped which is handy.
There is no USB connection for transporting files to mp3 on computer. However, I use Audacity (a free audio editor - google it) and plug the headphone socket into the mic socket on the front of my PC using a male to male 3.5mm jack lead to record. Works great, but might take a while depending on the length of the recording which can then be exported as wave, mp3, or Ogg Vorbis.
Overall, an excellent device which surpassed my expectations at least.

Excellent, 2008-06-05 A very durable cover for your k800i, whilst also adding style. This I would recommend to all who search for a cover for this phone. To those who believe it breaks easily, you just have to be fragile with it. Other than that its a great product.

Untitled Document Description: The VAIO AR Series marks another industry milestone for VAIO in terms of both design and capabilities. With its high-resolution widescreen display dual-core processor and integrated Blu-ray optical drive the AR Series is more than just a powerful mobile computer. Thanks to the innovative use of strong but lightweight materials in its construction and attention to ergonomics in its design the AR Series is easy to use at home or at the office and light enough for working anywhere in-between. All of which means that whatever your demands and however you choose to use it the AR Series can open the doors to a host of new creative commercial and recreational possibilities. For the user on the move who wants desktop performance wherever their work may take them the AR Series combines everything you would expect in a notebook with two items that you wouldn't - a High Definition optimised 17" ultra widescreen display and the latest Intel dual-core processor. It means that as well as offering wireless connectivity and portability you also have the power screen size and resolution to get the most from professional software. A larger viewing area makes it easier to use floating palettes or open documents side-by-side while the boost to performance also makes it simple to work with audio and video editing applications that require both high resolution displays and high speed processing. Plus as the screen benefits from Sony's next generation X-Black technology definition is always sharper and brighter with almost no glare so it is more comfortable to use for longer periods and less tiring on the eyes. Simple effective solution., 2009-01-04 I've only had it a few days now but it works well and the sound quality is very good. I found I had to turn my Creative Zen's volume up to full for a normal tape volume level, so have to remember to turn it down again when I put the earphones back in (which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars), but otherwise it's an excellent device.
Note: if you have to push your cassettes in with the long sided tape opening first this may not fit because the wire comes out from either the top or the side, not the back, but as most car casettes load sideways I've had no problem.

Sony DSC-H10 Things just got better, 2008-05-22
I bought and reviewed the H3 when it came out and have just changed to the H10 these are basically the same camera with just minor changes i.e. screen size/resolution. Was it a worth while upgrade! Well I think it was, the mode dial which had always annoyed me on the H3 has also been changed on the H10 so it now stays on the setting you want. The screen has been changed and is how a 3" Hybrid TFT LCD with 230,000 dots it can be viewed at a very acute angle and in bright sunlight. I was never disappointed with the screen on the H3 but after starting to use the H10 with its bigger/higher resolution screen it would be hard to go back. The image quality is great and the camera is very easy to use.
As with the H3 the H10 use's Sony own format memory sticks so if this is your first Sony allow for the expense of the new memory format.

- SONY PREMIUM DAB RADIO
- DAB TUNER WITH FM RADIO AND 20 PRESETS
- LCD DISPLAY
- STEREO SPEAKERS
- WITH STYLISH WOOD PANEL FINISH
Excellent sound, very easy to set-up & use, but room for improvement, 2009-01-02 This is a great sounding combined DAB & CD-player.
Setting up the DAB radio stations was a piece of cake as they're scanned automatically, and then you choose a subset for your presets. Very easy to use.
Looks suitably old-fashioned if you like that sort of thing, can work on either mains or batteries if you want to cart it about. Be warned however that it's quite a large hefty item.
Sound quality is very good.
LCD display is very legible, it's nice to be able to see what's playing half-way through a piece, but the display jerkily and so, so slowly...
Pause & replay feature is fun, but you can't set up a timed recording for a particular show and then listen to it later.
The CD-player doesn't play immediately if you put a new disk in, and there's no indication of whether a CD's already been inserted which could be problematic.
The remote control is usable but IMO unnecessary.

- SONY EARBUDS
- EARBUD SPARES FOR EX SERIES EX32, EX50, EX52, EX71, EX81, NC11, NC22, NX1, NX2.
- IN BLACK
Do exactly what they say, 2008-10-14 There is a lot of criticism of the price of these which completely detracts from the fact they do exactly what they say they do. The criticism of the price and the low star rating they attract is unfair because the buds are perfectly fine replacements for ones you may have lost. They do cost about £5 but I think I should make a couple of essential points here: (1) making small items like these tends to be labour intensive hence the cost, (2) bud-type earphones are useless without them and (3) if you've spent £40 on earphones paying £5 for spares is neither here nor there.
When I first started wearing Sony earbuds about 7 years ago you couldn't get these items as spares at all and if you lost yours you had to either wear the other sizes supplied or buy new earbuds; overall a much better situation.

- Lightweight head-band type noise cancelling headphones - perfect for travel and noisy environments
- Pressure relieving urethane cushion for comfortable fitting
- Passive operation headphones work with or without noise cancelling turned on
- Compact and foldable - ideal for daily commuting
Awesome, but a little on the pricey side..., 2008-10-15 First off, I have to say that these headphones sound absolutely amazing, well worth the price if its sound quality you're after. They take a few hours to get used to. To begin with the noise cancelling feels a bit weird, like your ears have popped but you soon get used to it. The noise cancelling gets rid of droning or humming sounds like engine noise on a plane very well, but isn't so good at filtering out irregular noise like speech or background music.
Battery life is brilliant. I use these for about 2 hours a day and on average i only need to change the battery once a week. (I use 700mah rechargeable AAA batteries.) There is a little pocket in the carrying case for a spare battery as well as the airline adapter. One annoyance is that I often forget to turn off the headphones when I'm finished with them. The power indicater is quite dim, I suppose so that its unobtrusive in the dark but it makes forgetting to tun off the headphones a regular occourence. This might just be me though, as I'm quite a forgetful person. The headphones fold up neatly into the case. I've found that the best way to do this is to fold up the headphones, put them into the case, coil the wire and battery box around your hand, slip that off your hand and stuff it into the leftover space in the pouch.
Sound is simply amazing. If you're used to small, in-ear headphones then these might sound like there's no treble at all, but one you get used to these you'll wonder how you could ever put up with small in-ear headphones. Bass response is ample without sounding boomy. A warning, as the battery wears down the bass response deteriorates and overall the headphones are a lot quieter. It is possible to use the headphones passively, that is to turn off the noise cancelling, but the headphones sound very tinny and cheap if you do this. even in situations where noise cancelling isn't required I recommend that you turn on the noise cancelling, just to improve the overall sound.
Build is classic Sony. Well made and thought out but conservative. They dont shout out that they're anything special; they just look like your average pair of travel headphones. If I was picky i could say that the headband is a little flimsy. I wouldnt recommend storing them unprotected, keep them in the case when you're not using them. The cable is long enough but not too long. The plug is gold plated, not that it makes any discernable difference to sound quality but its a nice touch.
Overall an excellent pair of headphones but a little expensive. Well made, excellent sound and excellent battery life.
