Sennheiser MX500 - In Ear Headphones - Black
Good sound quality, feels more expensive than they are, 2006-09-11 Sennheiser have a very good name in headphones and the MX500s do not disappoint.
I bought the MX500s just before buying a pair of Sony MDR-EX71s. The EX71s are better in absolute sound quality, but only when you try them side-by-side.
By themselves, the MX500s sound fine, with reasonable bass and good definition. Comfort is reasonable but they might be slightly large for some ears.
They come with a great carrying case which protects the headphones when not in use, something Sony could learn from.
If you have a larger budget, go for the EX71s, but if you want a pair of good quality day-to-day headphones for about a tenner then the Sennheisers are a better choice.

Great Product, 2007-11-24 Many people have been saying that these ear-buds don't fit the ear canal properly. There is not strictly true: the package contains two sets of rubber fittings, one small and one large. You select the size which is a little too large for your ear.
To insert them properly you need to push the bud in while the hook-part is rotated forwards by about 30 degrees. When you twist it back to vertical it works like a screw, securing the bud tightly enough to go jogging with.
The sound quality:
The quality is reasonably high, but very good for the price. Similar Sony products tend to be able to match the quality and volume, so nothing amazing, but certainly wont leave you feeling short changed.
The Toys:
The ear-clips are very good, high quality and very functional.
The volume control is handy, though don't forget, it simply inhibits the sound, its not an amplifier. This means its good for turning the music down for conversations, but don't expect it to make the sound any louder than with other headphones.
Drawbacks:
The plastic covering on the wire tends to lead them to getting tangled when they get rammed in a pocket.
The earbud broke after a year (Bought without warranty unfortunately), but having said that, I'm buying another pair (New this time!) to replace them, so they obviously meet a good standard.
Overall:
As someone who demands top performance from their audio gear (B&W stereo and Bose QC3's) I can definitely recommend them!

Best pair of headphones you'll ever own - for this price!, 2008-06-10 Simply put, these are best headphones I've ever owned. Sound is clear, bass is deep, cable is long, they're comfortable, not too hot, etc etc.
However, piece of advice - they NOT suitable for mp3 players, especially ipod, because they need proper equipment with high output. For example, I am using them on my PC (Soundblaster) where I can adjust bass, treble and all kinds of stuff, whereas ipod simply can't do it and reproduces treble-heavy sound with no bass at all. In other words - this brilliant piece of equipment needs equally brilliant equipment to make the most out of it. When all is set & everything clicks - you just can't beat eH350.

Great for the money, 2007-07-19 There seems to be a very mixed bag of reviews for these.
Having gotten them regardless, I have to say I find them a huge improvement over the standard iPod nano ones. I'm hearing things in the music which simply weren't there before. Certain tracks on my iPod I wasn't listening to any more because they didn't sound right on the original buds, now sound fab. They provide a decent full sound without having to crank the volume up as far as it will go. I'm a classical and jazz rather than a rock fan, and the bass sounds fine to me, in fact it is nice and controled without booming out of proportion. Overall I find the sound clean and sophisticated, with good detail. Admittedly they don't sound as good as my Grado full-size headphones, but I would have been more then a little shocked if they had. I don't know how they would compare to an in ear type, but then I like to be able to hear at least some ambient noise, and I don't like having to screw things into my ear canal. The cable is a bit on the short side, but as I tend to pop the player into my shirt or jacket pocket that is not a problem at all, rather the opposite. The little volume control is fine, handy enough but hardly essential. It should be noted that the little foam pads make all the difference, both in terms of sound and how comfortably they will stay in your ears.
All in all, good value and a big upgrade for your iPod.
