Excellent - but needs a bit of time to work out, 2008-12-31 Sony RDR-HXD890 Freeview+ 160GB Hard Disc Drive DVD Recorder - Black
This is an excellent machine which once set up is actually very easy to use. Setting up is easy (some reviews have said how difficult this is)- you just follow the instructions relevant to how you want to set it up with regard to your existing equipment and whether you're in a Freeview area or not (most probably will be). The instruction book is not as bad as it first appears, as someone else has already said it would be very difficult to make the manual less detailed given the amount of possible functions on the machine. It is very much a question of learning how to do the bits you want and not be daunted by all the options available.
I did find it difficult to work out which EPG I should use (given that I could use both) but opted for the GuidePlus EPG which once downloaded is excellent. I would advise you to learn how to programme the timer manually (very easy) as the one button function is brilliant but since BBC1 was overrunning on Christmas Day by about 3 minutes I had a whole load of programmes recorded with their ends cut off (they actually continued into the next programme). This was very annoying as it would have been nice to have copied one or two programmes to DVD but since the ends of these programmes now merge onto the beginning of the next recording the easy DVD/HDD dubbing won't be much use here. Yes, there is PDC but unless I've missed something, I don't think that works on the one button record function. Picture quality is excellent both for DVD playback and HDD (only used HQ setting on the HDD at the moment - approx 35hours at this quality). Assume quality will get worse on lower quality settings but not tried. Remote is fairly logical but a few buttons are a bit randomly placed - just a question of getting used to it really.
A tip not clearly mentioned in the instructions but is probably there if you look hard enough - NEVER switch machine off at the wall or unplug the machine as it will loose the EPG information. It will then take another 24 hours to get it back. The unit is designed to stay on - so don't worry about it - anyway you'll notice that it updates the EPG twice a day and won't be able to do this if you like switching things off at the wall when you're not using them! There's probably more to say, but don't want to confuse you more - well recommended but do take the time to learn how to use it properly. Recording to HDD is a joy - so easy!

- SONY HI FI SYSTEM
- DAB TUNER
- IPOD DOCK
- IN BLACK
NICE PACKAGE!!!, 2008-12-30 First of all I would like to say Amazon Del service is top draw I ordered this unit on Monday afternoon at about 2.30pm it was on my doormat on Tuesday morning at 10.00am with the courier. Going back to the unit this is a brillant piece of kit from Sony. It has all the bell and whistles on it to keep most people happy as for the sound quality very good. The setting up is very easy and straight forward including the ipod docking part. Overall a very small neat and tidy unit that will do the job for the average user and more importantly it's easy to operate and comes with a remote. You can more than likely buy cheaper versions of this docking system but what you got to remember this is Sony they been around a while now and they know what there doing when it comes to this and it's not alot of money for what you get.

- SONY SOFT CARRY CASE FOR SLIM CYBERSHOT
- IN BLACK
Fits perfectly for the W-Series Sony Cybershot, 2008-08-14 Not much to talk about for a camera pouch. I purchased one of these to fit my Sony Cybershot W-130 camera. Honestly, the camera fits perfectly and is just slightly bigger than the camera to make the pouch very portable and fit the camera perfectly.
The pouch is very soft in the inside to avoid scratches to the camera and very comfortable to hold on the outside. Overall the pouch has been designed very well and is definitely a worthy buy. Threes also a pocket in the front of the pouch to add additional camera accessories. Worth my money.

- Memory Stick PRO DUO
Does what is says on the can, 2008-12-09 I see a couple of people complaining that they are getting fake memory however they did not state who they got it from.
I selected TradeportUK and have brought 3 of these cards (one a couple of months ago and two the other week), I used TradeportUK as they have free delivery.
I use this card in my PSP and when I check if MagicGate is supported it is. I believe the product from TradeportUK is genuine.
Also very prompt delivery..

Amazing Item, Great Price, 2009-01-07 This is simply one of the best players on the market at the moment, it is so light and small, and it simply does not weigh anything.
The quality of the headphones are amazing, and the screen is as bright and colourful and clear to read.
It does take a bit of getting used to if you are used to an apple scroll wheel, but after a few plays with this sony player you forget why you ever need an ipod.
You can use it with WM11 and it comes with a free 3 month trial for Napster, so you can really test out the player with all of the great music available.
I would say this is worthy of 6 stars but amazon doesnt account for that!!

Fantastic quality for the money, 2009-01-02 I spent many hours trawling reviews and websites looking for a high spec tv to replace my 32" basic model. I am not very technically minded and just knew that the important things to look for were Full HD 1080p and a decent contrast ratio, which at 33,000:1 is way beyond what is offered elsewhere. With the Sony reputation for quality it didn't take long for me to place my order.
Arriving within 3 days I was bowled over by the ease at which I was able to set everything up. The various connections are really conviniently located towards the one end and not in hard to reach spots, with one HDMI located on the side - very handy for quick access. There's also a nifty little cabe tidy built in to the stand which is welcome little bonus.
The picture quality is fantastic and really is worth upgrading for. The sound is top notch too and the remote is well thought out so minor personal adjustments are very easy to carry out. If you anything like me and rarely read the instruction manuals the simplicity of the controls for this are perfect for you.
I love it so much, I almost want to buy another one!

Sony
Excellent piece of kit, 2009-01-04 What a great bargain. Just bought this after reading the other reviews on Amazon, and I have to say I'm very impressed. Easy to set up, great-looking and fantastic sound quality. One thing I've noticed that I haven't seen in any other reviews is that you can turn the player off, then when turning it back on, you can restart the DVD from the stopping place, rather than having to use chapter search or skip through the entire film to locate where you stopped watching. I had this feature on my previous player, and cannot say how much of a boon it is!
Also an excellent delivery from Amazon. I had this on supersaver delivery and was told it probably wouldn't arrive for Christmas - no problem, I thought, as it was still £60 cheaper than Argos. Lo and behold, it turned up on Christmas Eve - the perfect present to myself!

A good Buy!, 2008-12-21 After using my Samsung 1GB MP3 player (very basic pen drive style) for a couple of years, I decided that I was going to give myself a Christmas treat and get myself a new MP3 player with a bit more memory. I'm not a technophobe but I have never been interested in all the "hi tech" features that newer players have. I looked around and found the Sony NWZ-E436FB 4GB Drag & Drop MP4 Video Player with FM tuner in Black. It was a reasonable price as my Husband had bought a 2GB MP3 player for the same price 3 months back. After receiving it in the post at 9am, by 10am I had put all my songs on there. I didn't even have to look at the manual as it is so straight forward and easy to use. The display and menu system is very much like a mobile phone and very well set out. I had never used BBC iPlayer before, and after discovering that I could download and add them to the player I did so and it was very simple and ended up watching BBC's Hole in the wall in bed that evening! The one con I found with the MP3 Player is that it uses half a GB for the operating system it has which does limit the amount of music, videos and pictures that you can place on there. Apart from that issue, the MP3 player is a winner and I would highly recommend it to all that enquire!
