Buy this one!, 2008-01-04 I have owned the DX40's predecessor, the Elan, for a couple of years now and cannot fault it's performance, so when I decided to buy a second DAB radio, this was the obvious choice. It looks good (no retro wood or cheap looking plastic)and has a small footprint. The only slight problem with the older model was poor life of rechargeable batteries (I have now modified the radio so it automatically charges when plugged into the mains).
The new model is even better, with more features and a chargepak unit available (though at around £30 it's a bit steep...)
If you are looking for a reliable, sensibly priced quality DAB radio which can be run off the mains and batteries then buy this one!

Great little performer, 2008-03-25 Got the DMX-25 for the kitchen and it's an excellent little unit. I can't really fault it at all.
(Also got the it's big brother the DMX-60 for the living room and that's excellent too)

Great digital radio for under £100, 2007-12-30 I bought this radio 2 weeks ago and I am very happy with it.
Firstly I think is very well priced and looks almost as good as the £200 models ( that can be a bit too small ).
Secondly the maple finish looks stilish and makes any room look good.
The sound is a good as it can get with digital radio and can fill a big room without distorsion. You can program it to wake you up in the morning with your favorite station ( has 2 types of wake up mode weekdays and weekends ) , the brightness settings can be adjusted to night time.
The power sourse looks cheap and ugly so I invested £25 on a Pure VL-60924 ChargePAK E1 battery which are long lasting rechargable and you do not need to take them out as they recharge from the power supply.
In summary this is the best digital radio for under £100 with a classic look.

Gold and Red RockStar, 2008-02-01 "BUY IT." (Used as bedside clock radio).
PURE's Evoke Marshall edition is one rocking radio.
Out of box, Evoke Marshall is satisfyingly weighty. Turning on, initial sound appeared, "new."
After "running in" continuously for some time at low volume level, PURE Marshall sound opened up and is big, WARM and "studio" like.
BBC World Service discussions appear beside you. You can hear the breaths. Low end/frequencies are deep and balanced. Engineered, so sound has ample soundstage, despite mono-speaker, in my opinion.
Admittedly, I kept staring at the gold fascia contrast against the red LCD glow - super cool.
theJazz DAB channel, smokes like a real jazz joint on the Pure Marshall - slick jazz presentation.
One negative - you will NOT be able to see "PURE MARSHALL-1xt Marshall Edition" text on red LCD, as shown on PURE advertising. (PURE confirmed this only appears on publicity photographs).
I wake up to "Planet Rock," "Arrow Rock" or "Virgin Classic Rock" DAB stations which are guaranteed to rock my mornings. Awesome sound. Radio days.
Pros: Marshall styling. Red "cylon" LCD glow. WARM caramel, "studio" like sound. You won't want to turn it off.
Cons: NEVER able to see "PURE MARSHALL-1xt Marshall Edition" on red LCD during power up, as shown on PURE's advertising.
Bought my PURE Marshall direct from manufacturer. "Highly recommended."
