The powermonkey will revolutionize the way in which you charge your devices. Imagine it's a portable petrol pump for your technology! Change the way you charge - forever! You know what it's like. You're away from home, nowhere near your car, you haven't got your mains powered charger with you (which is fine because you don't have access to a wall socket anyway!) and your mobile phone has just run out of battery power (again). Or maybe your iPod has just played its final tune... The powermonkey comes 60% pre-charged so it's ready to use, straight out of the box! To get the most out of your monkey, simply use the included mains adaptor to fully charge the powermonkey and you will get up to 96 hours standby on your mobile phone, 40 hours on your iPod, 6 hours on your Sony PSP, 2 full charges on your PDA plus it's original charge and up to 1600 pictures on your digital camera! The powermonkey will even hold its charge without leakage for up to 6 months! Small, agile and powerful, the innovative powermonkey can be left in your bag, car, desk, etc and will be ready to provide you with emergency power when you need it most. Ideal for holidays and trips, no need to worry about bulky chargers taking up lots of space! Powermonkey features 2 LEDs; 1) powermonkey Charging: flashes red when powermonkey needs charging, shows red whilst charging and green when fully charged. 2) Device Charging: flashes green when discharging to device and red when low battery voltage. The universal mains charger will work in over 150 countries and has inter-changeable heads for UK, US, Australia and Europe. Powermonkey comes with: 1 x powermonkey Unit 1 x Universal Mains adaptor Adaptor for Nokia and Mini Nokia, Motorola V66, Samsung E900, Siemens C25 and Sony Ericsson wide connector 1 x Mini USB for Motorola Razr V series, Blackberry and Bluetooth headsets 1 x Direct iPod adaptor 1 x USB smart phones, PDA and other devices 1 x Connector for Sony PSP and

KAD Power
(Tacima)USA to UK Voltage Converter (110-120V upto 30VA > UK 220-240V)
Just Right, 2008-04-22 I bought this product so I could use a lamp I bought in Japan (100v) in the UK. Although the general product description states it's for transforming 240v to 120v it specifies on the box that it actually transforms 220-240v to 100-120v and you do often need the 100v for Japanese products.
Can't really fault the convertor - just plug it in, plug your appliance into it an that's it. Read a few reviews which stated it was quite big, but I thought it was pretty reasonable.

Power Traveller
- Water-resistant, rubberised design - a power source for every adventure
- Solar Slave + Powermoney-eXplorer = 2 reusable sources of power (no batteries needed...ever!!)
- Compatiable with majority of mobile phones, including Nokia & mini Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, & Sony Ericsson
- USB Connectors power up iPods & accessories, MP3 players, PDAs, smart mobile phones, digital cameras, games consoles, BlackBerrys, Bluetooth headsets, & many more digital devices
- Includes mains travel charger for use in 150 countries - 110V to 240V
No more dead batteries!, 2008-11-03 If, like me, you carry a lot of power-hungry devices, you're probably familiar with either or both of the following two problems:
1. Having to carry several different chargers
2. Flat battery (which always seems to happen when you're nowhere near mains power or don't have the right charger to hand)
If this rings a bell, then you'll find the Powermonkey invaluable. It's effectively a portable, rechargeable battery pack which comes with a variety of different connectors, allowing you to recharge a multitude of different devices - all major manufacturers' mobiles, iPod, Blackberry and PSP, among others - on the go without requiring access to a mains point. (You can also use it with your digital camera as a backup power source, although it won't recharge the battery in this case.) It also comes with a variety of mains connectors so it can be used in pretty much any country.
The Explorer version is similar to the basic Powermonkey, but it also comes with a folding solar panel which can be used to recharge the Powermonkey without a mains connection. Although considerably slower, it's still a useful feature as it means you can recharge the Powermonkey while you're out and about by attaching the solar panel to, say, a rucksack, or even uder artificial lighting. I can't really comment on how effective the panel is, as I haven't used it as such yet.
The Powermonkey carries enough power for both my iPhone (which needs a recharge every 24-36 hours) and Nokia mobile on a single charge, and it doesn't seem to leak power if you carry it around for several days without using it.
The unit is very simple and intuitive to use - you basically just fit the Powermonkey to your device via the correct connector, and off you go. Both the main unit and the solar panel are lightweight but feel reasonably robust - they should both happily survive your standard knocks and drops, although you probably wouldn't want to drop the solar panel from too great a height, or sit on it!
I generally carry the Powermonkey unit and the two connectors I use most everywhere I go, with the solar panel added to my bag just in case.
The only real downside I've found is that you can't recharge the Powermonkey and a device at the same time - you have to recharge the Powermonkey first, then unplug it from the mains and recharge your device. But this is a pretty minor quibble for a versatile and genuinely useful gadget which significantly reduces the number of chargers I have to pack when travelling, and means I no longer have to worry about my iPhone cutting out mid-call.
Thoroughly recommended!

ORA Power Accessories
- For UK travellers to Europe
- CE Approved
- 1 Round Pin Adapter Included
- Colour: White
a special plug, 2008-01-25 you know, its funny how we all take the little things for granted, as you sit at home, or the work place if your employer has not blocked amazon as it is probably not relevant for your job, looking at your computer screen, have you given a thought to where the electricity comes from?
if you are a lady, or indeed a gentleman, whom likes to tend to their selfcare, did you use a hair dryer when you got out of the shower this morning? and if so i bet you dont remember putting batteries in it.
when you had that nice cup of tea, an essential part of our british culture, did you stand sobbing over a boiling pan, oh no i bet you just used the kettle.
Plugs are an important part of modern life. as much as i would like to boil my water over a fire i made by rubbing sticks together, its just not practical in todays hectic society.
we are pressured to work a 38 hour week, and fullfill all the expectations of family life too. social norms are reinforced by the media. money success hapiness love. so of course we need a holiday too.
must these two key aspects of modern life, electricity through the medium of a plug, and going on holiday, be mutually exclusive?
NO! I'd recommend to everybody buy this 'wonderful piece of kit'. you plug your plug into this plug and then plug it in. simple, tasteful, my favorate thing

Power
- Portable power for ipods, cameras, mobiles & more!
- 1 x PowerMonkey Unit
- 1 x Universal Mains adaptor
- 1 x Mini USB for Motorola Razr V series, Blackberry and Bluetooth headsets
- 1 x Direct iPod adaptor
buy one! they're fab!, 2008-08-14 I leave mine in my handbag... it's quite light and fairly compact (...well my handbag is quite cavernous...) but it means I can quickly and easily charge up my phone en route. How often have you grabbed your phone and dashed out the door whilst sending your pals a text to say that you're on your way but not to bother calling you as your phone is about to die? oh, just me? well anyway, now i just grab my power monkey too!
Also v handy on business trips - I just take my power monkey and its charger rather than a charger for my personal phone, and a charger for my pda.
it's been a godsend for my boss who uses his pda so much that he generally runs the battery down if he's out of the office all day. with said "singe de pouvoir" he can now recharge whilst he's out and about.
I've yet to order myself an adaptor for a Creative Zen mp3 player which I think will just be a few pounds - there is such a massive choice of adaptors provided (but I did check to see that my phones were compatible with the adaptors - but I cannot find the link now - apologies - pretty sure it was on the power monkey website somewhere.
Planning to get one for 65 year old mother who hasn't quite grasped the concept of charging mobile phones - powermonkey is v simple to use.
In fact, I've become pretty evangelical about them - really should ask the manufacturers for some commission!

- This portable charger is tough, water resistant, light and versatile and includes the solar-slave
- Compatible with the majority of standard mobile phones it also includes specific connector tips for iPods, MP3 players, PDA's, smart mobile phones, digital cameras, hand-held gaming devices, Blackberrys, Bluetooth headsets and many more digital devices
- The eXplorer has a water-resistant rubberised design, an LCD screen that displays battery capacity and level of charge
- The solar-slave ensures that you have power at all times, you can hang it from a window, attach to a rucksack, leave in a car or just take it anywhere the sun shines
- Includes black travel pouch and canvas storage case
Use the sun to re-charge your mobile phone., 2008-02-12 I got one of these for Christmas and have been using it now for 7 weeks.
My main reason for getting one was the "eco" reason - to use the solar charger to charge my phone and MP3 player.
I had a lot of problems initially - when I used to try to charge one of two Nokia phones I have the device would switch off. The customer service people at Powermonkey were great though - and I got a new one sent out and have had no such problems.
I leave the power monkey charging by day on a south facing window sill. Even in rainy England during the winter months I find that I have enough power to can recharge my phone every 2 or 3 days. So I don't expect to ever have to charge my phone from the mains again.
Lots of adaptors/plugs - so you should be able to charge most things any where in the world.
Would of giving it 5 stars, except for the initial problems and also sometimes it reports it has charge, only then when you plug it in to charge do you find out it wasn't being completely honest!!

Energy Monitor World
- LCD Display
- Range 0-9999 KWh
Excellent Device, 2008-01-02 This Power meter tells you, the electrical current (in amps with 2 decimal places), voltage, power factor, frequency (in HZ), watts and KWhs used. I find it quite useful. I was able to reduce the standby power used by my PC. I was also able to upgrade my video card and save about 10 watts compared to my old card.
It was interesting to see that on standby, my microwave oven uses about 0.4A, but the power factor is so low that only 4W is actually consumed.
Examples of use:
1. Plug in your Combination microwave oven. Cook your favorite dish, see the exact KWhs consumed to two decimal places. You quickly see that the cost of electricity is typically 2% to 5% of the cost of the food.
2. A device consuming 10 Watts in standby is costing about £6 per year at 8p/kwh. But some older devices use 40 Watts in standby mode. It is as well to know if this is the case.
3. How much does energy does the pond pump or the dehumidifier really use?
4. How much energy does your router consume?
5. How much energy do you really save at 30C compared to 40C in your washing machine?
To me, as a physicist, most of the global warming scare stories are as credible as the book of Genesis, but wasting resources is silly and this device lets you quickly make informed choices. It's one disadvantage is that you must disconnect and reconnect your device in order to measure the consumption.
