Well Worth It, 2008-03-27 I grew tired of looking for a dvd player, reading as many reviews as possible and still not coming up with any answers. I bought this particular one having read a review on this site from someone who bought this model express delivery to use on a flight next day. We were also going to fly next day with our young daughter. I can honestly say the picture is fantastic the small control button on the screen is so easy to use and allows you to skip, play, pause and volume without having lots of buttons for little fingers to push all the time! Our flight was only 2hrs but the dvd was fine and showed no sign of dying. I'm yet to establish how long it will last but we had it set to quite a high volume setting because our daughter is to young for headphones. The bigger screen is well worth the extra money but as the other review stated buy a seperate case because the one supplied is very thin and is more a dust cover if anything. For those like me who are buying to keep children happy and do not know anything about dvd players, you will not be disappointed with this one.

so easy to set up, 2008-07-09 I got this dvd recorder for £55 from another source and its a great machine. It was so easy to set up........well it really set up itself.
I programed the multi-region code provided by other users on this site(many thanks for sharing this with all of us)I did what you said and I am now watching a dvd from america(region 1)titled "Lady sings the blues"featuring Diana Ross.
At this price you cannot afford to let this slip by..full marks for a great dvd recorder and so easy to set up(you will not need to get the grandchildren to set it up for you).

Excellent value, 2008-03-24 Brilliant for the money. Deep, rich sound quality - even at low volume - plus an ipod charger/player, too. We bought this for the dining room but it's so good we are considering using it instead of our main sound system, which cost a great deal more. My husband would have liked a DAB radio but I have to say I have no criticisms at all. Highly recommended.

- Gradual light positively affects energy hormones
- Up to 400 Lux for both natural awakening and easy reading
- Three natural sounds or friendly beep
- Wake up to your favourite FM radio station
Fantastic for those who cannot get up in the morning, 2009-01-07 This is the ideal alarm clock for people like me who find it really hard to get up in the mornings especially winter mornings. I have had it for a year now. It gently wakes you up, so you feel alert and not sleepy when you finally awake.
I was so fed up of my teenager being bad tempered and always running late I have just bought one for her. She has only used it a few days, but said it is great and doesn't feel moody when she wakes, and now has time to spare in the morning.
You choose the light brightness 0 - 20, and the sound you want to wake up to, FM radio, 3 x nature sounds, alarm beep.
I can't praise it enough.

excellent tv cant fault, 2008-07-18 I have had the tv for 2 weeks now and i am still amazed how much better it is than my last 32"lcd tv.My last tv was a cheap lcd and the philips puts it to shame.I use the philips mostly for my xbox360 through hdmi and the picture is amazing even the freeview gets an excellent picture with very little distortion. The photos above dont do it justice it is a very nice high gloss black surround sleek and elegant. All i can say is for the price i would recommend the philips 42PFL5603D, but thats just my opinion.

- Display weather forecast with graphical animations
- Multi-colour light weather indicator
- Display indoo-outdoor temperature
- Built-in hygrometer display indoor humidity
- Wake up to your favourite radio tune or a buzzer
A lot more useful than it looks, 2008-01-17 I only bought this clock because I wanted a nice looking clock that was going to be accurate. This one is one of those radio controlled clocks that sets itself automatically, and it's very nice looking so I picked it up.
The weather aspect of it (the top left corner glows different colours for different weather, e.g. Red for Storms, blue for clouds, white for snow, orange for clear skies etc), wasn't a reason I bought it, but now it's the part I like the most. You put two AA batteries in a little box that you stick outside, and from the humidity and temperature the clock shows the predicted weather with different colours. This turned out to be really useful, waking up in the morning to the radio and seeing when you open your eyes if it's going to be an umbrella day or not.
And it looks very nice, the colours are bright and cast a nice light onto the clock, and the display is adjustably backlit which is handy for bedside lights.
Very nice clock/weather station, also very solid build quality. Def. recommended.

Neat little player, 2008-07-05 I've used my Philips GoGear SA3245 on a daily basis since I got it a couple of months ago. It's a lovely piece of kit and I've had no problems with it at all. It plays MP3s and videos effortlessly and the radio is a real boon. The screen is small, but I'm able to view family pictures easily and it has great storage capacity. I regularly download radio podcasts and listen again on my way to work. It's handy to be able to use it as a sound recorder too.
Battery life is excellent.
It's great for the price and I wouldn't be without it!

Excellent player, no question., 2008-12-19 I recently bought this little player and was extremely impressed almost straight away. After using dynamite to extract the player and other equipment from the extremely well made packaging i was surprised by how light it was. I previously used the zen stone and it was very similar.
Installation and quick use was done in seconds and i was loading albums onto as soon as the charge complete.
The sound quality was good but i adjusted the presets (i found the hip hop setting to be the best non-custom balance) and there was way more bass than i expected. Ditch the headphones and buy another set, the difference is immense if you even spend £20 on another set (i have yet to find an mp3 player with good standard headphones).
The neckstrap is okay but i use this for work so it gets in the way if you aren't sitting down all day. The extra long USB cable is also handy but best of all is the battery life. So far i have played it constantly at work with pretty heavy music for nine solid hours and it barely goes down to half bars.
A couple of very minor niggles get in the way but nothing to put you off buying this player. I highly reccomend it.

If music videos is your thing then this player isn't for you., 2008-07-28 There is something peculiar about this machine. It doesn't like music DVD's. What I mean is that if you try to play a DVD of your favourite band in concert or a DVD collection of their videos it will play them but the sound is out of sync with the visuals. Strangely this does not happen with any movies or indeed all the kids videos I have tried.
I called the Phillips customer care centre to see if there was a remedy. I was on the phone for over 15 mins, much of it on hold whilst they discussed the problem. At 15p per min it wasn't a cheap call but they were very pleasant when telling me to send the product back to Amazon as they hadn't had that problem before!
Apart from that strange idiosyncrasy it works fine except that it is quite a noisy machine. But given that I bought it for the car to keep the kids happy on long trips I'm not too concerned.
All the fittings fitted to my car and in fact it came with alternative fittings - fixed (but easily removable) to the front seat headrest pillars or pouches that strap to the headrests.
So I'm now in a quandry - do I keep it, as it seems to play what the kids watch without too much trouble, or do I send it back as it doesn't handle DVD's that I might watch when we're on holiday? As usual it's the kids requirements which have won the day. I'll read a book.
Here's hoping that it doesn't pack in when we head for France very soon.
