This wireless networking starterkit gives you high-speed wireless Internet access on your PC or laptop. The kit contains the wireless router and wireless USB adaptor you need to make your network wireless.
Using the Wireless Connection, 2007-01-01 I am new to all the wireless business so maybe I'm missing something but this wireless router seems to work best with the Philips software (i.e not Windows control) and only with the given USB Philips wireless dongle. I've had loads of problems with my Linksys PCMCIA laptop card although this whole wireless stuff is meant to be compatible.
I need to use my wireless connection with a Linux computer so this will be the difference between returning the Philips router for a Linksys router costing £20 more that may be potentially less trouble free as I'll need to buy a new PCI card that works. I already have a Linksys router that has been easier to set up and much less trouble-free and easier to configure than this Philips router.

- Display weather forecast with graphical animations
- Display indoor-outdoor temperature
- Digital radio-controlled clock for accurate time settings
- Digital tuning with presets
- Large backlit LCD display for easier viewing in low light
great little gadget, 2008-02-29 This clock/radio is amazing. It looks great & the time is radio-controlled so is always right. The outdoor temperature is useful & the weather forecast is surprisingly accurate. The radio sound is quite good and the display is big and bright but we had to put a piece of wood under it to make it stand upright - at an angle we could not read it in bed. The price at Amazon is good too - Philips online shop sell it at £49.99!The downside is that it can not have a battery backup so in the event of power cuts you will lose your settings. Overall it is a great little gadget but a pity about the battery back-up.

- PHILIPS PORTABLE CD PLAYER
- HEADPHONE SOCKET
- 2 SPEAKERS
- FM/MW TUNER
- IN SILVER
just ok, 2009-01-07 This does NOT have a headphone socket as stated in this review. The older version AZ1022 does but this one has an MP3 connection instead. I bought this model specifically so my daughter could listen through headphones so was obviously disappointed and surprised that it didn't have connection. Will have to try and get hold of old model now.
Apart from this is standard rather flimsy cheap cd cassette. Ok for the money.

At last! Vista drivers are now available., 2007-06-14 At last Philips have made Vista drivers available for this webcam (both 32 and 64bit versions) Please note that the drivers are available through the Microsoft Windows Update site - they're not for download direct from Philips own website. Just plug in your webcam and let Vista find the software from the Windows update site.
This is an excellent camera in all respects apart from the rather idiosyncratic clamping arrangement. i.e. it doesn't work too well! I solved this by buying my own camera clamp from Maplins and screwing it into the threaded tripod mount in the base of the webcam. Now it's rock steady, no problems at all. Fantastic image quality - very impressed.

exceptional quality & comfortable earphones, 2008-08-10 Totally wonderfull earphones, im miffed as I paid £19.99 in a well known high street electrical store, so great value here.
They fit comfortably over your ear & are like little speakers that sit over your ears, so theres no piece to go in your ear, which I cant keep in at all. The fitment at the back adjusts so you can fit it comfortably to your ear, whatever size or shape you have.
I have worn them for several hours comfortably.
The sound quality is excellent, the base is deep & rich, yet you get fade in & outs from each ear & bells, for example in one ear, or other tunes & noises over the song ive never noticed before. Ive given them some serios welly on my Iphone, from Metallica to R&B, electric pop, dance, you name it I have it, Ive always had strange tastes! I havent had any distortion from them at all, i had them at half volume, but went up as high as my ears would go without bleeding & found the same good quality.
I recommend these to everyone, especially if you cannot keep the in ear ones in, & especially at Amazons low price!

Very good sound but poor display when viewed in the dask, 2008-08-12 As has been mentioned elsewhere, the display whilst readable, isn't that clear viewed in the dark when the blue backlight is on. Changing the contrast doesn't help a great deal but is fine under ambient light. The rubberised buttons themselves also light up very brightly.
I bought the quad handset version yesterday for a good price & set up the remaining fully working older Philips Onis handset as a 5th phone - it looses functions such as answerphone access but can make & receive calls including intercom mode to & from the supplied handsets.
The menu structure is generally OK but to stop the red "Event" LED from flashing on the handsets requires too many button presses through the menu for my liking (one option is to also set a bleep to to alert you but I found the LED was fine on its own).
DECT phones have come along way since I purchased my Philips Onis model back in 2000. The audio quality is very good, the entire phonebook can be sent to the other phones but remember to delete all entries from the target phone 1st or you get duplicates! Phonebook entries can be edited unlike my previous Philips & assigned to 1 of 3 groups that can be given 1 of 10 ringtones. Answerphone messages can be accessed from either the base-station or from any supplied handset. Importantly, if power to the base-station is cut, I could retrieve left messages after power was restored. Handsfree mode works well, remote access to left messages works & if the phone rings 4 times & the Philips has been set to "Economy" mode, you know that no messages have been left then hangup without incurring charges. I have held more comfortable handsets but is adequate. Numbers from the caller list can be added to the phonebook that can hold up 100 named entries.
To sum up: only just adequate display readability in the dark but very good sound quality. The incoming call volume was fine & could be adjusted during the call. You need to read the manual for this model!

- Dynamic Bass Boost electronically enhances the low tones
- Incredible Surround " enhances the sound stage
- Universal use with all portable entertainment equipment
- Ultra slim mono body fit easily into pockets and bags
- Carrying pouch protects your speakers when not in use
Acoustic speakers? Are there any other kind?, 2007-06-06 First impressions of this natty little unit were 'OK-ish, but where's this impressive bass everyone mentions?' The higher frequencies also can be harsh & grating, and the resonant frequency of the little speaker units can be hit all too often by any female vocalist, resulting in an ear-piercing note. In fact, the closer I listened, the more disappointed I became (speaking as a perfectionist audiophile :)
Now the good news. These speakers really do benefit from being 'run in', as many people recommend for headphones, and a couple of simple mods. If possible, play the unit continually for a couple of days or more at fairly high (but not distorting) volume (use the power adapter, obviously). The speakers loosen up nicely, and the bass response improves dramatically. Next, try plugging up the ports on the back of the unit, and damping down the enclosure (on the well-known principle that one should hear the speakers and not the box). I used blue tack and electrician's tape inside the rear cover, so nothing spoils the outer appearance. The top end becomes much sweeter, and the sound now has a depth and clarity which is very impressive indeed for such a small unit.
