Excellent Picture .... Superb Sound, 2008-09-01 I did a lot of research before opting for this. 100Hz scan was high on my priorities. Setup was a doddle - switch it on and off it goes! Connectivity is great with 3 HDMI on the back, one on the side, plus 2 SCART, Even on standard freeview, the picture quality is one of the best I've ever seen on LCD and on HD it is outstanding! The sound quality is also excellent. Highly recommended!!

Panasonic DMREX88, 2008-11-14 Replaced my 6 year old Panasonic HS2 40GB HDD recorder ( Which is still a great piece of kit and reliable) with this one. Had it a week and absolutely love it. having had a Panny before then the layout of the controls and menu's were all very familiar which I think is great as its more an evolution from what worked fine rather than being a revolution. with that said even if you are new to Panasonic recorders you should be able to grasp their menus quicker than most others. What is an absolute dream for me over my earlier DVD recorder is the ability to record back to hard drive from the DVD disk ( previously available on the HS2 from RAM disks only ) I find the digital TV tuner very simple to operate, the ads on the left of the screen from the TV guide dont bother me at all and the ability to make almost one touch recordings by selecting the channel and programme from the Digital TV guide is another pleasure.
I could go on all day praising this machine but to sum up Im glad I stayed loyal to the brand and am really pleased to have upgraded to this new generation of recorder.

Amazing Quality, 2008-07-10 The camcorder itself is amazing in quality and great for editing, if you do that kind of a thing. Now all I need is a High Definition TV.
Having taken still pictures on the camcorder too, the quality is really really good.
The 60GB hard drive is ample unless you need hours and hours of footage, (I think it's limit is 15 hours on 60GB). It may be an idea to get a separate SD card to separate the still images from the video footage on the harddrive or worth getting in case your hard drive becomes full before you've had the chance to transfer it onto your home computer.
The 10x optical zoom could have been better and although the 700x digital is a brilliant gimmick to impress the friends and family, you'll obviously lose a lot of quality when zooming into far away objects.
The only downside for me so far is that there is no Apple Mac software, althouh you can import it into iMovie / Final Cut Pro, if you want some decent software to do the editing on a Apple Mac, you'll have to go out and buy the software separately.
I'm most certain you'll be impressed with the quality, in fact I'm using the camcorder a lot more than I used to simply cos it's brilliant quality and easy to use. Enjoy..
Oh it's definitely worth paying the extra from the Panasonic model below this one to get the 60GB hard drive.

Outstanding Value for its Price Range, 2008-07-26 If you are looking for a simple cordless phone without too many whistles and bells, this one is ideal. Added to SuperSaver Value, it is really unmissable. So many people are attracted to all the glitzy extras, but when it comes down to it, they just use it as a phone. I never bother exploring all those options... life is too short!
Regarding the point about the ring tones made by the previous reviewer, I felt that too, until my son showed me that you have a choice of 20, and the volume can be turned down.
I admit, they do tend to be a little strident, but look you have DECT Digital Cordless Electronic Transmission, and even carriage costs included in the deal... £20.99 to have all this thrown in is one of the best deals I've had this year.

    Incredible zoom, 2008-11-02
Having been thinking about buying a new camera to replace my ageing 5mp point-and-shoot for a few months, I was tied between the Lumix TZ5 and this camera. Having played with them on the high street there was absolutely no competition.
I took this camera away with me to Turkey a couple of weeks ago. Knowing very little about photography I kept the camera on automatic most of the time, though the sunset and sports modes are very good, the sunset scene mode really brings out the reds and oranges in sunsets. Using a tripod you can get some really amazing night shots. In the right hands you could get some brilliant shots with this toy, that's not to say that an amateur can't achieve similar results.
I'm very pleased that I invested in a 2gb Sandisk extreme card before leaving. There is a noticeable difference between saving pictures to this card and saving to a standard Sandisk card - sometimes of a few seconds. My 2gb SD card will store just over 400 photos at full resolution, I really should get another.
What really sets this camera apart is the zoom function. 18x optical zoom means that you can happily play paparazzi, getting some brilliant shots from far away with no degredation in quality. The camera allows you to disable the digital zoom completely - meaning that you don't accidentally start taking degraded photos.
The best example of the zoom is some of the photos I took whilst away. Taking a photo from the top of a hill of the view down over the harbour you can see a small black object in the sea. Zooming in on this you can clearly see two people sat in an inflatable boat eating sandwiches! Rest assured that you will really be amazed.
The colours of the pictures are incredible, on a recent trip to Scotland I took numerous photos of landscapes and sunsets, all of which have come out clear and crisp with extremely vibrant colours.
Having looked into the lowepro cases I couldn't find a case that could happily hold the camera without being absolutely massive. Popping into Jessops I found one of their own brand cases that fits the camera snugly, without being a really tight fit. Best of all it only cost me £6.00
All in all I am thrilled with this camera. Having played with numerous cameras over the past few weeks, this fills a niche between simple point-and-shoot cameras and full blown DSLR cameras. Whilst incredibly simple for an amateur to use, I'm sure any professional will be more than at home with some of the more complicated functionality.

You'll be amazed by the TX-32LXD80 LCD television by Panasonic. This High Definition screen brings you stunningly bright and detailed images by using the latest technologies, including V Real 3, 3D Colour Management and Sub Pixel Control. With its triple HDMI connection, two SCART sockets, and memory card slot, the TX-32LXD80 lets you hook up all your audio/video devices, and even displays JPEG images from your SD card. The TX-32LXD80 television by Panasonic also includes a digital tuner, giving you access to even more digital channels, so you can enjoy hours of entertainment!
Great Budget LCD TV, 2008-12-30 I bought this TV from the results published in the latest report on LCD and Plasma TV's from Which? This TV is a Which? Best Buy. I live in a poor reception area and my antenna is in the attic and it has no problem tuning in all channels. The electronic program guide (EPG) is excellent and the Teletext is fast. The remote control has large buttons which may be a plus for some people. There is also a slot for pay-tv cards for TopUp TV or Setanta Sports. The overall design is very well thought out and the pictures on Amazon don't do it justice as the stand and LCD surround are in gloss black. Overall I'm very please with my purchase as it has transformed the family's whole viewing experience and the old Playstation2 games, such as Pro Evo Soccer 3, have been given a new lease of life. The Panasonic TX-32LXD80 is a great budget TV.
