A Panasonic Wonder with Profile 2 and Upscaling, 2008-11-08 Purchased to match a Panasonic 1080p Television after reading many reviews.
Consider connecting through HDMI not Component Video to utilise all the features. As usual these days a HDML lead is not included. The HDMI lead recommended by Amazon as a package is the one to get as some HDMI leads are wired differently and the Panasonic Viera Link will not work (my original didnt).
Profile 2 means you can connect to the Internet to do Firmware updates as new features are added.
As regarding Upscaling (rendering ordinary DVD to a higher quality if possible) the manual is a bit confusing as the default condition assumes connection by Component Video and you need to find the right menu to change this if using the superior HDMI connection.
The US import version of the BBC Planet Earth I am told is 1080p rather than 1080i if your TV supports the higher format whereas most UK Blu Ray discs are not yet showing the full potential of Blu Ray.
After watching full 1080p for a while and switching back to ordinary Freeview TV really emphasises the quality of this product.

Value / Quality, 2008-11-03 I Purchased this answer phone to replace my corded phone ,also being disabled I needed a reliable Phone system in the lounge ,kitchen and bedroom ,without the need for wires hence the purchase of the trio.
These phones have fullflled all expectations and more ,they are clear they have lots of settings such as volume controls intercom ,15 different ring tones ,100 entry phone book and more ,EASY TO SET UP(well pleased).
Purchased from Amazon for £49.99 ,I was about to purchase them from a well known catalogue shop for £69.99 when I got an email with Amazons monthly offers, these just happened to be one of the offers, I ordered them on Tuesday ,delivered free on friday. (Hows that for service and value?)

Recommended camera, 2008-10-19 I originally ordered the new Canon from QVC (about £220) and although it was very small, perhaps too small, I found the menu system confusing. After returning it I set about trying to find a replacement for the 4 year old Panasonic that stopped working (unusual for a Panasonic). Originally I was put off because the TZ5 is bigger than the smallest compacts more easily pocketable in a coat pocket than shirt pocket. I need not have have worried as the Pansonic is certainly easily carried around without being an encumbrance. My definition is "do you know you are carrying it" and the answer to this is "no". In its favour the menu system is easy, the wide angle is great and the zoom is fantastic for such a small camera. It's HD movie mode promises to be a bonus. It feels robust in use and because it's a little larger than the real "tinies" it's actually easier to use and handle. The large screen is very detailed and a great improvement in clarity (460k I believe, whatever that means)
After lots of research on suppliers I actually bought from Big City Digital (co.uk). I called them after a credit card query and got them easily and the camera and accessories arrived the following day, all at a price beating cost. I recommend both the supplier and the camera

A joy to use, 2008-11-10 I bought this to go with a Panasonic 42" Plasma. The upscaling on DVDs works well and I've no idea how blu-ray could be '4 times better'. The recorder is easy to use and there are significant improvements in this compared with an early model. I particularly like the 'series record' function and the way it saves all the episodes of a series in a group folder with just one click. I had a good experience with the free delivery from Amazon of both items - but had to shop elsewhere for a Cambridge HDMI cable - worth getting from Richer Sounds.

Top machine for the money, 2008-10-29 First of all top marks for amazon for being the cheapest price around by far for this machine,No one else can get anywhere near amazons price.
As for the machine well top marks again go to Panasonic for turning out a top spec machine and does mostley what you would expect a higher end dvd recorder to do,looks good as well.
Only had recorder for a few days but so far very impressed with what it does and what it can do.Basic setup was very easy, but have a good read of the manual for other functions. Was impressed with editing and copying functions, does alot more than my jvc machine used to do.
Cant see where previous reviewer said machine was very noisy, mine is very quiet, only time it is slightley noisey is when you do a top speed dubbing,
but then again you would expect that from most machines,if that annoys you that much you can change the copy speed to run slower and quieter but then you would defeat the object of high speed dubbing wouldnt you ?
Records onto all discs that i have tried in it,only discs i found not quite as good was r+ and rw+ as they will not do high speed copy, but not the end of the world.
Copied a two hour recording in standard play on the hard drive onto a dvd-r disc in eleven minutes,Pretty good i thought and the picture and sound quality was superb.
As i said only just got machine so still playing, but so far only good reports coming from me.
Hopefully i wont find any bad points,so once again well done Amazon and Panasonic.

Nice job, very clear signal, 2008-09-08 Much has been said already in a very comprehensive review. I would like to add that the back light on the phone can be set to switch off when the phone is not being used - even if it is charging in the cradle.
Other good points: the phone fits nicely in the hand, the signal is very clear and I haven't had any problems with hums in the background. First cordless phone other than a mobile and I'm very pleased.
Also the instructions are helpful - yet it is quite an intuitive bit of kit to use if you are on the male "instructions only in an emergency" type of person.

Great Phone, 2008-09-14 Got this Phone two days ago from Amazon who had it at the lowest price I could find.
The phone has great looks and the sound reception is really good. I also like the ringtones which sound good. The phones feature are easy to set up using the screen display similar to a mobile phone. The volume of the speakerphone is okay but personally I like it a little louder...
Its got a lot more functions such as intercom which I have not got round to... but all in all I think its easily one of the better phones on the market right now.
Cheers!

Great DECT PHone, 2008-10-14 I bought this to use for working at home and after one month I can say that I am very pleased with it.
Handsfree loudspeaker volume is LOUD ! The mute button works very well too.
The phone feels good in the hand and call quality is good. No issues with battery life, and the backlit orange keys are quite cool. The keys are fairly large and easy to use.
This is my first Panasonic and it's all good so far ...
