For several years now I have been using both a shoulder bag and a ruck sack. While the shoulder back gives quick and easy access to lenses and equipment it is a pain (literally) to carry for long periods.

On the other hand the rucksack is very comfortable to carry but every time you want to change a lens or filter you have to take it off your back, find somwhere dry and safe to put it down, unzip it get want you want and then put it all back together again.

The Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW does a very good job of combining the two. It is comfortable to carry ( with all my gear for a days shooting it weighs about 10 k) and when you need access to lenses you swivel it round and unzip the flap and away you go.

The main compartment has versatile velcro fixed dividers and holds my camera with 17 - 85 zoom attached together with 5 other lenses includin a 75 - 300 telephoto plus a flashgun.

There are 2 other zipped compartments sufficient to hold all my other loose gear (filters small reflector remote release etc.) with special pockets for memory cards and spare batteries. Realistically, though you need to put the bag down to access these compartments.

The bag is well though out with several neat touches and seems to be very well made. Oh yes..... it also has an all weather cover.

All in all a very good buy!

This is an excellent rucksack which will both protect your beloved camera, a couple of lenses and small accessories, and still have space for some snacks/clothes/water or whatever you might need for your trip. You can even fix a tripod on the outside if you wish. It's perhaps more suited to a day hike than a long trek, although does fit a surprising amount in, and is very versatile. (I've often carried a tin of corned beef instead of a third lens!)
The design is really superb - it seems like everything has been thought of. The quick access sturdy zip-up flap on the side, for accessing your camera without taking off the bag, is my favourite feature!
The bag is made of strong sturdy padded material and holds its shape really well, whether empty or full.
If you're an amateur photographer, and want a protective camera bag and daypack combined this is the one to go for.

I ordered this bag for my Canon HV30 camcorder. It just fits in perfectly and there is room for 2 x spare DV tapes and a spare battery.
You can also fit a spare SD card in the front compartment.

Not fot digital SLR and remember not for spare lens - you would have to buy bigger bag for SLR.
For Lumix FZ28 it is perfect, just enough space to put camera and battery + SD card. No less no more.
