Not bad but not for new 'Classic' owners...., 2008-08-04
The logic 3 web site was unclear if this would work on the new classic, and it sort of does, ish!

When it is plugged into the dock the remote works fine as long as you are not using the 'through' headphone socket. If you use your phones in the normal Ipod socket the remote works fine-ish though it can be tempremental with next track and volume.

Using the remote with the phones in the normal ipod socket of course means that you can't use the radio which doesn't really matter because when used with the Ipod Classic the radio is pretty rubbish.

This is a shame because the remote unit works as an excellent inline amplifier and resolves the problem of apples volume limiter on european models, when playing through the actual remote unit the volume becomes ear-bleedingly loud, but unfortunately the response from the remote is not precise enough to turn it down quickly!!!!

I will shop around for the non-fm radio version, as the logic website states that this will definately work with the classic, and if it works properly then this will be a brilliant bit of kit.

I bought this with a hope that it was going to work for an 80 Gig Classic, and it does!! None of the sellers I spoke to were totally sure but it's great.

The remote also works while the lock is in place.

The only problem I can see with it is that it's been designed for one of the fatter ipods so it sticks out of the front of the classic a bit, but if it's in your pocket / glovebox etc that won't matter.

The remote comes with a little holder which can be mounted within easy reach too.

Great bit of kit, 2008-10-15
This really is a great little device. The headphone jack on my iPod has packed up so I brought this to combat the problem and it's worked perfectly! It's simple to use, though the combination of having the iPod locked and this not locked and the fact it can override the iPods lock takes a bit of getting used to, but nothing that wont be learnt fast. People have commented on other similar gadgets that the radio reception isn't great, and it's sad to say the same goes for this. It's ok, but that's it, just ok. It seems to wander a bit, so unless you'll be standing perfectly still it's probably not a great buy for the radio. As an iPod headphone remote it works brilliantly and I highly recommend it.
