I recently bought a USB mixer to record at home with my mic and bought this as an after thought. I am so glad I did - it's brilliant. Not only does it stop "pops" but it does a good overall job of filtering out breaths between lines and general peaking on the recording. You end up with recordings of an even sound.

I had this attached to my mic stand from when I started recording so I didn't immediately notice the difference. After recording a few tracks I took it off to see if it was having an impact on my tracks. The levels on the 'line-in' spiked immediately and the recording was far less even.

It's easy to fit to my mic-stand, light weight, and easily adjustable. I 100% recommend this product for any at home recording.

It would be well to add to the specifications that the heater is rated at only 2.5 W. The specific heat of water is about 4.18 J/g/degC at room temperature. Thus to warm 100 ml of water from 20 degC to 50 degC would take three and a half hours - even in the absence of any losses. Basically, it will just about take the chill of it.

Note also that the vacuum cup supplied is also insulated on its base! It thus serves no function other than to keep the hotplate warm.

I got this one as a spare along with a sony one.. which still hasn't arrived yet and i wasn't expecting it to be brilliant. when i put it in a casette player it gives you excellent sound quality for the prive (you loose a little bass but not much)
the only issue i had was that it made an annoying rattling noise which is easy to fix, take it apary and remove all the cogs inside - they aern't atttatched to anything and it works fine without them seeing is it's just a casette shaped bok with a chip and a wire coming out of it.

I certainly got what I paid for. The sound was tinny, and it runs on batteries, not the mains, which means the batteries will wear out after a few hours of play. I purchased these speakers because I wasn't sure if the official iPod speakers were compatible with the first-generation Shuffle product or the second.

The speakers are allright if you want to listen to your iPod playlist while you're out in the garage or washing the dishes, but if you're having a wild party, find out what speakers have the best sound and are compatible, and splash out on them. Oh well, I had it coming!
