These provide a good quality sound when attached to a PC - nothing special,but what do you expect for £10-15. Ideal if you just want standard quality sound, but if you want high quality sound for editing etc. I recommend getting some more expensive speakers in the range above this one.(£30+)
But, this is a good price for a good pair of speakers.

These are an excellent set of 5.1 surround sound speakers especially at such a good price. They have a superb bass response and crystal clear high ends which is expected from creative. These speakers are small but powerful and can easily be mounted on a wall with one screw, however they do also come with stands. My only complaint is that the front two speakers have a very short cable. Some people have complained only two speakers and the bass work out of the five, but this can be easily fixed with a headphone splitter. Overall an excellent set of speakers for an excellent price.

My brother bought his Creative Zen mp3 player about a year ago now, which came with these earphones. Being the n00b he is he broke them quite recently, but if he hadn't they still would have been in great shape. For £4 you can't go wrong with these, quite simply a bargain!

ok, this review is JUST for using this thing as a recording device.

what i did like about it was the ability to edit the menu's and remove all the unwanted stuff. i ended up with a menu that said "Recordings" and "Line in recording" and "System"!

the screen orientation can be changed also and brightness turned down from the default 100%. i run it at 40% i think. (i don't use it outside).

actual recording: ok, for some strange reason the only two recording formats are 120k wma and 160k wma. i would have preferred 120 and 240k or 160k and 320k. not sure even if those exist in the wma format, but never mind. 160k produces a reasonable enough sound.

i only wanted to get a device that i could record radio shows from, that i do, and with 4gb using compressed wma format, i can get a helluva lot of shows on there!

so i gave it 5 stars because it does very well what i wanted it to do, which was a simple, no nonsense recording device...only ;)

Let's face it; most of us aren't going to record vinyls. Most of us are in it only for the listening experience. So if you have a laptop and want to enjoy 5.1 then this is the sound card for you. They have a little bang for everyone:

1. EAX Effects for gaming enthusiasts
2. Virtual Surround (the CMSS button you can see) re-creates any audio coming into your sound card into 5.1. Uncannily effective. Music enthusiasts: get ready to be blown away.
3. Optical out for those who want to connect high-def audio systems.
4. Line in: if you're a guitarist and want to use your card as an electronic amp, there's a line in for you.
5. SPDIF and DIN ports.

Use them with a good audio system like the Logitech X-540 and you've got yourself a very good bargain.

from Belkin can enable you to cheaply connect all 3 audio jacks to one of your laptops output ports, don't even think about it. I tried it, and I thought the speakers sounded good, but when I got the sound card, I was literally transported to another realm. The speakers sound miles better using the sound card.

Needless to say, they play any 5.1 format (DTS, Dolby, DTS-EX, DTS-ES, AAC) effortlessly with discrete and loud sound coming from all channels.

Of course, with DTS-EX and DTS-ES, you don't get the rear centre channel because this is not a 6.1 sound card but a 5.1. Investing in a 6.1 card is infinitely more expensive and then you need a 6.1 audio system as well, and they're not cheap either. Plus, if all you've ever been using is a 2.1 system, you won't notice the difference. There are also very few 6.1 movies and games. The only such movie I know of is Lord of the Rings. Oh yes, try Lord of the Rings on your new 5.1 system. You'll find out why one of the Oscars it got was for sound mixing.

This is a superb product and exceeded my expectations of it. It's tiny has a long battery life and does everything it whould very well and as an added bonus looks great too.

Ok. Now for a review about the actual product. The speakers are really good and look really stylish. They are battery powered (batteries were provided). You can turn the volume up to a decent level but perhaps it could be a little louder - but the volume level is perfectly good. Yes you must be careful the first picture that amazon shows above is the wrong product - the speakers do NOT come with a remote control but you will notice their are two pictures you can look at and the second picture is the right product.
The mp3 player is great all of my friends comment on how small and light it is and how great it is.
I definetly reccomend the two products.
