i was nervous about so much of my business work not being backed up so bought this memory stick, i simply inserted it into the usb port on the pc and after a few seconds a window popped up, then copy and pasted the work folders into the window......then took it out and put it into the laptop and again after a few seconds it opened and there it all was, superb little device, and by the way PCworld are selling this exact same one for £48!

O.K. I know the pink is girly, but as I am a girl that is why I chose it over the trad Blue or Black and it is so neat and highly visible! I won't lose it in my bag or brief case. It seems very well made and solid in my opinion. I haven't tried the washing machine test yet, and probably won't - my son did exactly that with my other 2GB freebie that I was given and lent to him. He chucked his shirt in the machine and then went white to the gills when I asked for it back!! Fortunately it still worked and this looks much more robust. So girls, just go for it at that price!

I have bought many of these drives now, all blue, and was very pleased to see a pink version. It looks good, but quality is still there, and the price of these things now is amazing.

2GB bytestor USB stick, 2008-03-16
I have two Bytestor USB sticks now and I would thoroughly recommend them. I can't seem to fill my 2GB one and they are indcredably durable. Mine had been left in the back of a laptop, someone moved the laptop in a rather heavy handed fashion from what I can tell not realising my USB was plugged in. I came back to find the casing of my USB had come apart showing all the workings inside and the end was bent. To my relief the casing clipped back on, the end back and all my data was still there. I am still using this USB now and it looks as good as new, no one would ever guess the sorry state it had been in.

Great product for video playback, 2008-11-18
My wife used to carry various VHS videos to lectures and hope the equipment would work when she got there. Sadly, this was rarely the case!

Now she fits all her video for all courses on one of these in wmv format. It works a treat! There is still plenty of capacity for powerpoint and other files too.

Can't be recommended too highly!

Bought 2Gb initially to add to my 1Gb Crutial I had, but no combination of these 2 and the crutial would work (event though they looked to have all the same spec, it just kept crashing going into Windows).

Thought it was these DIMMs, but when I put then in themselves they were fine.

So, I'm taking out the crutial and I've bought another one of these.

My PC is on 24/7 and in just under a week they has not been one problem with these modules. Excellent value!

I bought this as an alternative to a new computer and was dreading fitting it. The simple fitting took 2 minutes. The increase in performance was staggering, when compared 256MB, particularly when using the Internet. Well worth 30 quid and 5 stars.

Wish I had bought this before, 2008-06-18
I needed to transfer over 60GB of photos, music and data to another machine so that I could format one of my storage partitions. A long and tedious session of DVD backups resulted in a few corrupt files so I set about looking for a non network solution and found these wonderful gadgets.

I have now transferred all my data, corrected the problem on the data partition and ferried the data back from the backup machine all without a hitch and it was not too slow.

One regret is that I did not buy the 8GB version because many of my folders were too big to put on the 4GB device all at once. As I am intending to buy a Vista machine soon and will be distributing my large photo collection and other data between this and two other XP machines for permanent backups in addition to DVD I may buy the 8GB version and use this one to carry important data around with me in my handbag, it's so small.

With regard to the size, yes it is small and you have to be careful not to lose it but what I did was to attach it to a short connecting cable that came with an MP3 player and therefore there was no strain on the business end of the device. It also made it easier to find if I dropped it.

I would suggest to anyone who found the device slow that maybe their machine was lacking in sufficient memory or they were trying to run other memory hungry processes at the same time. I am running XP Pro with lGB memory. I found it was best to let the data transfer have all the resources available and I also rebooted a few times to free up the cache and any locked memory.
