Good Product, 2008-04-18 I really liked these earphones. They've lasted me 6 months and I use them every day. The left earphone stopped working in the end but I am going to buy another pair because they're really comfortable and the sound is great.

What Apple should provide, 2008-08-18 Really not a lot to say about this item. It's cheap and does what it's suppoed to do. At this price why does Apple not provide a mains charger as standard?

Apple
More ergonomic than its preceding model, the MA662G/A earphones have been specially conceived for the iPod range of products. Extremely comfortable, the MA662G/A earphones give you unique sound quality. Thus is recommended to be used with all Apple MP3 players. Your iPod goes everywhere with you, while travelling, in office or in the sports room. Irrespective of where you are, enjoy your favourite music with the MA662G/A earphones !
Great quality sound but not good enough, 2008-08-05 I think these earphones are brilliant in sound quality but the plastic tears easily. ive had mine since X-mas and the plastic is coming away from the actual earphone and at the pin. I think this is a design fault however as the plastic coating is too far away from the wire making it easy for the plastic to tear.
Also these should be avalible in different colours, perhaps the same colour as the iPod they come with as so many people have these it surpresses no individuality what-so-ever.

Truly A Wonderful Little Gadget, 2008-09-16 I already have an iPod Nano 3rd generation, and I said to myself I wasn't going to purchase a new one this year. However I couldn't help myself when I visited the Apple Store and was completely won over by this little beauty. I was drawn to the purple one this time round (my previous ones being blue), and I just had to have one! It really is a fantastic gadget - design and function wise. You can't help but look at it in amazement. I can't fault it apart from the fact the battery doesn't seem to last as long as the 3rd gen and there's still the same old problem of missing artwork on cover flow. However the new functions and voice recorder capabilities (you will need to buy Apple's upgrade earphones with mic to use that function), make up for this (yay!) Also, it seems a lot lighter than the 3rd generation.
I can see the other reviews are complaining that the Nano 4th gen is not compatable with previous iPod accessories, in particular an fm transmitter to play it in your car. A couple of months ago I bought a Griffin ITrip Autopilot from Amazon for my 3rd Gen Nano. Well it works perfectly with my 4th gen too!, so I totally recommend it.

Athena
One word - WOW!, 2008-09-10 I was looking for a decent speaker system for my Ipod; had considered Bose & the Klipsch IGroove (which apparently is made by the same people who make the Athena). Was a little dubious about spending 'only' £40 on the Athena as generally, you get what you pay for. However, the positive reviews persuaded me to go with it and I'm certainly glad I did. Fantastic sound quality & I've saved quite a few quid when compared to the other units I was looking at - what more can you ask for?
As far as I am concerned, this is perfect for my needs (in the bedroom at the moment); I really can't see any other (pricier) speakers being any better & only the real tech heads would be able to tell the difference.
I'm hearing lyrics & instruments on tracks that I've never heard before! If anything, the system shows up the limitations of MP3 quality well before you'll notice the limitations of the speakers.
Bass, whilst meaty is crisp & clear & it doesn't tend to cause 'bass boom' in other rooms in the house. A few reviews mentioned reliability problems - well I can only speak as I find, and mine was perfect, and played straight out of the box. Really simply - plug in and play. The instruction manual is surplus to requirements, there are only a couple of buttons to worry about so it's easy to work out! (simplicity is a bonus; it's a speaker system, nothing more - so you don't need loads of functions you'll never need. It just sticks at doing what it does well)
I don't even seem to have the problem some people report of the unit defaulting to high volume every time you switch it on - mine keeps the level where it last was.
If I was being super critical, my only slight annoyance is the blue power light that flashes if there is no audio source (e.g. if I set my Ipod to sleep timer, once the Ipod switches off, the speakers bue light flashes - lighting up the bedroom at night). However, I guess you can cover it over so you don't see it.
All in all, a great bit of kit - I am sure you will not be disappointed with this & for the price, it's a real bargain!

Quality - You get what you pay for, 2008-09-19 OK, why the five stars? No graphic display, limited functionality when compared to more larger, more expensive items, but let's take a closer look.
Having owned a number of MP3 players, including the oft maligned ipod 80gb, this gadget is really very smart. It is exactly what it was meant to be and for a little over £40.00 represents excellent value over its competitors. Apple have got the right idea, storing over 500 songs, it is small enough to clip on a t-shirt, but stores sufficient music or podcasts for me to travel to New York and back and still barely scratch the surface of what I had stored on it. What else is small? Well not the battery life, that's for sure and whilst the headphones are poor, it was not so long ago that I paid this amount for a player which was powered by an A3 alkaline, with earphones that were so poor they defied belief.
In regards to the lack of graphic display. Let's get real, whilst I have loaded this up to the brim, for a fifty something, I find that 10 albums is enough and them change the playlist. But for a budget conscious young (or not so young) person, this item represents good value if you fill it up to the brim.
Get one.

Griffin
- Works with
- . 3rd Generation iPod with touch wheel and buttons
- . iPod mini
- . 4th Generation iPod with Click Wheel
- . iPod photo
Best by miles., 2008-09-08 I recently got a 3rd Gen iPod Nano to replace my very old iPod mini. For that iPod I used one of the early Griffin iTrips that fitted in the headphone jack. It wasn't perfect but was the best I could afford at the time. Before that I had one of those cheap ones with green and red LEDs on it that lasted about a week.
For my new iPod I've upgraded to Griffin iTrip Auto, it's so good and so much better than my previous ones. It has presets, recharges your iPod and also has the clearest sound of all. It sounds better than radio, pretty much like a CD.
If you're in any doubt look no further. Basically it's more expensive than the others cos it's better.

Excellent fit and feel. Other reviewers noted the lack of screen protector but I see that as an advantage, enabling optimal viewing of what is, after all, one of the ipod's prime attributes. Highly recommended.

Sandisk
Excellent little MP3 player, 2008-08-28 This is a lovely bit of kit! It's light, doesn't appear to be eating battery power so far, produces a good sound and is largely intuitive. It puts songs in artist or album order, and will play all songs, or all songs by an artist, or a random selection - you choose. One ear of the earphones has stopped working, but I can live with that as the player is worth a better pair of headphones. I am currently enjoying listening to all my R.E.M. albums and don't think I could have chosen a better player - for £35 or otherwise - to enjoy them on. Give it a go!
