Fantastic item, abit tight putting in the Nano but i suppose its to keep it snug and fitted hence it wont fall out then.

Really comfy and washable.

Generally a good clock radio. Nice interface and well-built. The sound quality is good enough, though as other reviewers have said its not amazing.

Two minor issues:

1. The iPod interface is disappointing. You can set the iPod to wake you up, but can't choose which playlist etc it will start on from the radio - it will just start from the last thing it was playing.

2. You can't choose radio stations from the presets from the remote control. This makes the whole preset feature a bit useless.

This is a powerful little speaker - I was pleasantly surprised. The sound was good - not the tinny sounds you usually get from portable speakers. I have used it in a large room seatting 50 people and the sound was crystal clear. The added feature of batteries is invaluable as you can take your music outside...if the summer allows.

I was really interested in this product until, I read the specification in depth.

Although it states that it provides USB playback and direct recording from CD, in practice it can only write to particular Sony Walkmans and not to any USB device. Also it does not provide the ability to record from the radio.

I have just bought a Sony TV which provides dual outputs for connection to HI FI audio equipment, but this system does not support dual audio input at the back. Instead it has a stereo in mini jack on the front. How dumb is that?

Fantastic item for iphone 3g, 2008-12-26
I have received this item just berfore christmas and it has opened up the world to my iphone. I recently purchased the venturer mini which allows streamed music and hands-free bluetooth over the in-car speakers wirelessly. Unfortunately the iphone will not allow connection to A2DP products. This dongle does it perfectly and is the best priced one on the market.

No problems whatsoever, just plug the dongle into the base of the iphone and off you go. Fantastic.

I purchased this product for the fact that it was supposed to be able to play videos from my 80GB Ipod( which it says will be compatible). The DVD player works great. I can listen to my Ipod. What I can't do is watch videos from my Ipod on the player. This is because I found out that Apple has blocked the Ipod's ability to have videos played on it and connected to another source(like this player). In other words, my Ipod is not compatible with this player. Apple apparently did this and didn't tell anyone what they were doing(this is according to Phillips). The only reason I am keeping this player is because I got it at a really cheap price(and I didn"t have a portable dvd player).
