Had to be there to appreciate, 2008-10-31 Girls Aloud - Tangled Up Tour 2008
I was there at the O2 and it was a brilliant gig. The costumes, dance routines and vocals of all five girls were fantastic. They sang all the hits, as well as the songs featured on the Tangled Up album. Surprise extra stage from the bridge was a nice surprise treat.

'Welcome to the greatest night of my entire life...', 2008-09-03 I genuinely think that Dave Grohl meant that when he mustered those words in disbelief.
Where do I start?
This concert was filmed live on location at Wembley Stadium, at the beginning of June earlier this year. I was lucky enough to find tickets for the Saturday show, and I knew it was going to be one of the best live shows I have ever seen.
I stand by that statement. I have been fortunate enough to see the Stereophonics in Llandudno (which was a massive coup for Venue Cymru), and Iron Maiden and Trivium in Manchester, and although Maiden were outstanding, I felt more alive and captivated by this show, even if I was three tiers up and Dave Grohl was the proverbial ant.
Here, I can re-live the concert again (or certainly parts of it), and the only downside is that I wanted more songs on the DVD - 'Come Alive' was outstanding, and there could easily have been more additions.
But Taylor Hawkins's drum solo, and Dave Grohl and Chris Shiflett's guitar duel in 'Stacked Actors' were fantastic...and then...
...you had Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. What an honour it was to share the company of these absolute legends. Dave got behind the drums for 'Rock and Roll' and Taylor did the vocals (and was startlingly like Robert Plant) - brilliant.
Dave then did the vocals for 'Ramble On' while Taylor got back on the drums.
An unforgettable night indeed. Please buy the DVD, even if you weren't a part of it.
10/10 - Outstanding, absolutely brilliant.

Cliff Richard
Cliff on tour, 2008-11-19 I was at this concert when it was recorded and it was an amazing night of fantastic songs and a wonderful artist celebrating 50 years at the top. He is Britains top artist who always gives 100 per cent in all he does.
This must be the DVD of the year. Rock on Cliff, Youre the best.

Director:
Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese leaps into the madness of the Rolling Stones' organization in Shine a Light, barely controlling (in a most entertaining way) a documentary that culminates in the Stones' best concert on film. The movie's highly entertaining, pre-performance prologue finds a frazzled Scorsese trying to get a clue about the band's plans for a very special New York City date in 2006, a benefit hosted by Bill and Hillary Clinton. While Mick Jagger quibbles over concepts for the stage's set and peruses lists of possible songs to include in the show, Scorsese tries to figure out how to shoot something for which he has few production details. Everything falls into place eventually, and after an extraordinary meet-and-greet scene in which Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, and Charlie Watts catch up with the Clintons and sweetly introduce themselves to Hillary's mom, the Stones launch into a set that leans less heavily than usual on their greatest hits canon. Longtime fans are sure to appreciate the wealth of generally-untapped material from Let It Bleed ("You Got the Silver," "Live With Me"), Exile On Main Street ("All Down the Line," "Loving Cup"), and Some Girls ("Faraway Eyes," "Just My Imagination"). Jack White, Christina Aguilera and Buddy Guy are on hand for memorable collaborations, but the Stones all alone are truly on fire in the relatively intimate setting of a small theater. Among the highlights is a sexy and even thrilling call-and-response between Jagger and ace backup singer Lisa Fischer on "She Was Hot," Richards' gracious and expansive solo on "Connection," and Jagger's witty take on "Some Girls" (which manages to skip over the controversial verse about "black girls"). Throughout the show, Scorsese and an army of camera operators cover the action from every conceivable angle, which results not so much in another hyperkinetic concert film but rather in the kind of graceful, flattering portrayal of a great band that the director mastered with The Last Waltz. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com

Has Anyone Actually Seen The DVD??, 2008-11-11 I'm sorry but thus far there are just reviews of the live show which will always be better than a DVD. Only one review has described the DVD so far, which is what we are looking to buy, NOT tickets to the show. Anyone got anything positive to say about the DVD to counter the poor review the production got? Is it worth buying this product or waiting until a better re-edited version appears?

Kylie Minogue
AMAZING!, 2008-11-09 WOW WOW WOW WOW!.... yes this is the amazing kylie minogue putting on another spectacular (and again very different from the last tour "showgirl") show!.. its funny that the only negative review so far is from someone who has to mention the name "madonna" in a 'kylie' review repeatedly.. NOT a very constructive way to review someones live show. it is actually NOTHING like any madonna tour and if i was to compare it in any way id say that on this tour as usual kylie sings totally live not over a backing track of her record unlike others do on tour!...
its a real shame that its not looking like becoming kylies first tour on blu ray.. it was filmed in hd and would have been so ace if it had been released on blu ray. oh well for now ill have to make do with upscaled dvd when i buy this as soon as it comes out..
memories of an amazing show from one of the best stage performers in the world.. kylie just oozes charisma and stage presence. "flower", a new ballad is totally beautiful and shows her voice off best along with the very personal "X" album track "no more rain" which kylie wrote about what it would feel like after her illness to get back in front of an audience again. STUNNING! along with them are countless greatest hits covering her 21 year (and counting) career and new smash hits from her great latest album "X" including the fab "2 hearts" which could have been a great blondie song in the late 70s and the poptastic (and highlight of the whole show for me) "in my arms" which just had the most amazing bass and just took the roof off...
AMAZING show which is now touring south america, asia and ending in australia and new zealand in december 2008.see it again on dvd from december 1st and relive the full show again for the first time and enjoy behind the scenes footage and the ace tour projections from the show as well as tour gallery.
