Tradecraft, techniques and technology explained!, 2009-04-22 A thoroughly entertaining and thought-provoking read. This book contains a good laymans introduction to the craft, focusing more primarily on operational techniques and uses of technology rather than getting bogged down in specific detail of how certain technology works. There is some in here about recruiting agents however it focuses more on the actual tradecraft: survillance techniques, communications and coding etc. An essential read for any aspiring intelligence field operative or private investigator, or in fact anyone who wants to gain insight into that world.

Tally-Ho!, 2009-10-01 All these Commando collections are a treat, but those featuring aircraft stories are especially welcome.
This one has a Battle of Britain theme, but you could just as easily say the common factor is great story telling and fantastic artwork, the latter having astonishing levels of attention to detail on the aircraft. Plane spotters will not be disappointed, but neither will action fans for the dog-fight sequences truly fly - something hard to achieve even with movies and special effects, never mind a few black and white line drawings.
As with all such collections this one is printed 25 per cent bigger, giving the artwork space and ageing eyes a helping hand.
My strong suggestion is to buy this and the Ron Goodwin theme music CD to listen to as you read.
Scramble!

The most amazing book I have ever bought or ever will., 2007-06-01 Always difficult to buy a book that sealed and expect not to be dissapointed.
Not this one.
The work and attention to detail is simply breathtaking.
Rather than give away all the surprises the book contains copies and other memorabilia of parts of the Tour De France through history and thankfully an English translation in a separate booklet is included, so you can understand in the true spirit of the TDF each item.
The painstaking work that went into this book is worth anyones money.
Simply perfection.
An absolute must.

The Power of Imagery, 2009-03-13 I have thoroughly enjoyed basking in the splendor of this amazing and distinct photographic art. It depicts scenic depth and truly conveys a telling narrative beyond any utterance. Whilst the images stand alone the accompaning history greatly enhances the perspective of the story told. I was truly captivated.

Beautifully presented, 2010-05-20 Richard Overy's "The Battle of Britain Experience" is a gorgeously presented book which is a graphical look into the summer of 1940 with the upcoming 70th anniversary of the conflict. Produced in association with the RAF on beautiful paper stock and in a large landscape format with a protective thick cardboard slip-in cover, the book is full of images and a concise text which covers the major aspects, personalities and stages of the Battle of Britain. However one of the best features of the book are the beautifully produced facsimiles of contemporary documents (combat reports, communiqués, pilot notes, letters, maps, etc) which are contained in the book's sections in fitted envelopes. Overall this is a superb "coffee-table" style (and I mean this in a positive way) of book about the Battle of Britain which is stunningly presented and I believe shall be enjoyed enormously by both casual and serious enthusiasts of this greatest of air battles.
